Subject: Missing Prop

Recently the Hartzell prop hub of my Super Decathlon was found to have
cracks (a subject of an AD for recurrent inspections).
However, when my local mechanic shipped it to a regional prop shop, the
box arrived empty but sealed! (sent by UPS)
After two weeks the prop (both blades and hub were separate) was found
on a loading dock at UPS. Someone had to have intentionally removed the
prop from the box during transit and re-sealed it with new tape, since
it arrived sealed at the prop shop. They of course denied any wrong doing
or responsibility.
I can only imagine the prop with a cracked hub showing up on some home
built. You can imagine the consequences it it were to let go, since the
cracks were only visualized on dye penetrant examination.
Has anyone had a similar experience with having a prop stolen during
transit?
