Dumb suggestion: Why doesn't the Canadian Fed Gov't simply
become a significant new sponsor of the Northern Lights,
who are ex-Snowbird pilots who fly are already flying airshows
in four Canadian-registered L-39's?

For a lousy US$1M from the feds - a tiny fraction of what it
would cost to buy 9 new jets for the Snowbirds - the NL could
buy three more really nice L-39's.

Paint them red and white, and the Snowbirds fly again.

This is inline with the "downloading to private sector"
policy that we keep hearing from the feds these days.

Just a thought from a Canadian taxpayer at tax time :-)
