Subject: Sustained G in Pitts S-1
From: ShawnD2112

Was just up playing a couple of weeks ago and got to thinking about G
loading. My S-1 is stressed to +6/-3 Gs which I can hit for a brief period
but not really sustain in many conditions (not that I've tried to in many
conditions, mind you). So I decided to see what G load I could sustain in a
level turn. Entering a 90 degree bank turn from about 160 mph and full
power, I noticed that I soon bled off speed and was only able to sustain
about 3-3.5 Gs in the buffet. Pulling any harder resuled in an accelerated
stall which was pretty much a non-event at 3,000ft.

Anyone else ever tried this? Did you get different numbers? Just curious
as I learn more and more about my airplane.

Shawn
