Subject: Aerobatic Championships
From: Herb Martin

The Discovery Wings channel had an hour on the
Aerobatic Championships in France (I presume the
latest one but I never did see a date other than the
release of the video which was 2001.)

It was very good if you have never seen an aerobatic
championship (I haven't) but I would really have preferred
that they stick with (at least the top ranks) all the way
through the sequence.

They also didn't have an "expert" play-by-play narrator
but someone who just did the 'color.' (Some former US
champ would have been a real nice addition to this
video.)

They did a nice diagram of the first "unknown" sequence
but neglected this for the second, and there was no real
critique of any mistakes or good stuff (except by accident
when they showed friends talking with the returing pilots.)

They did manage to show the "cutie Russian" Svetlana
something doing here 'wink for the camera' routine twice.
(She's a doll and she knows it - once would have been
compelling, twice just seemed staged.)
