Subject: S1C Prebuy Questions?

Hello,
I'm looking at a Pitts S1C with a 0-360 A1D.
The aircraft was test flown and the restrictions flown off and the owner
lost his medical. It was first flown in 1995 and put into storage after ~30
hours. It has the longer S1C fuselage.
It has 4 ounce Dacron fabric. (is that suitable for an S1C?)
1.) Any things to be wary of as far as construction and rigging? I've read
a bit about Pitts' but any additional information would be great.
2.) What will liability insurance look like? I'm a fairly low time pilot
(~200TT and ~50 in tailwheel) with a couple hours of Pitts dual. Any
specific companies or routes to getting insurance? (EAA, IAC?) I figure
hull insurance won't be worth it. My partner will be a 700 hour tailwheel
CFI but since I'm lower time I assume the rates will reflect that. I'm
planning on getting some takeoff and landing dual before I fly it.
3.)Any additional comments?
4.)What is a fair price for an S1C with a runout engine but otherwise good
shape with electrical system but no inverted systems. I know it varies but
a round range is all I'm looking at.
This aircraft was ~710lb with no electrics and with an electrical system now
is ~800. Are these decent numbers? I checked out www.airbum.com for some
Pireps and those weights seemed reasonable.
Thanks,
Matt
