In my opinion, for most Pitts S1C, S1S planes, you are really buying the
engine, and the plane just gets thrown in also for perhaps a couple of
grand. So a good value for that plane is the value of a runout O-360,
without inverted oil--perhaps $7,000.-$10,000. There are exceptions for
really nice ones with extra or special features, but this doesn't sound like
one of those. Mind you, I am no expert on Pitts, but I have been keeping an
eye on ads, and bought one over the last two years.
