What's in Your Oil - The Science of Oil Analysis
LAWRENCEVILLE, GA – Ever wondered what was in your oil, whether it's
worth having your oil analyzed or perhaps what those oil analysis
reports really mean? On August 3rd, Mr. Mark Smith, Technical
Administrator and Certified Lubrication Specialist for Skywatch,
Norcross, GA., will present a program entitled, "How is Your Oil Doing?"
an overview of oil analysis, how it works, what it does and does not
do. Skywatch provides spectrochemical and physical testing for the
major aviation oil suppliers, such as Shell Oil, as well as end-users
nationwide.
Smith, both a Certified Lubrication Specialist and Oil Monitoring
Analyst, became the first person in the United States and only the
second person worldwide to gain all three STLE certifications. Skywatch
currently has four Certified Lubrication Specialists and a number of Oil
Monitoring Analystson-staff.
An adequate opportunity for questions and answers will be allocated.
This free program is open to anyone with an interest in engines or
aviation and is part of the Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter
690’s monthly Aviation Program and Breakfast. The EAA Sport Aviation
Center is located at Gwinnett County Airport, Lawrenceville, Georgia.
An all you care to eat Pancake breakfast and/or refreshments are
available beginning at 8:00 AM, rain or shine, with the program
beginning at 10:30 AM. All activities are open to the public. For
