Subject: Snap Rolls in 7ECA

Those of you with experience in the 118 HP 7ECA please tell me what you
think of the following observations:
I have found a Citabria 7ECA that I can fly for really cheap and even start
instructing in.
The owner says that he does not do snap rolls, however, I am finding that
the airplane snaps very easily, and surprisingly gently at about 80 knots.
The g-load is minimal. In fact, I think that in this airplane it is a much
more comfortable maneuver than an aileron roll (which I find almost
impossible to do well) or a slow roll (which causes the engine to sputter
due to the non-inverted fuel and oil system).
I am relatively new to aerobatics, but I would like to start teaching the
basics to some of my more advanced students and other CFI colleagues, so I
am trying to develop a syllabus of maneuvers that this airplane
(unfortunately the only one I can get my hands on for now) can do well and
gracefully. So far I am doing loops, barrel rolls, hammerheads, normal
cubans (reverse cubans seem beyond the limits of this airplane), and spins.
Any other suggestions?
Although the snap roll is technically an advanced maneuver, it almost seems
like in THIS airplane it is simpler and more comfortable to do than the
other rolls.
Is there any reason not to do snaps in this airplane? A lot of people seem
to think that the tail is going to fall off eventually if you snap roll it
too much. Is this nonsense?
