Subject: Airworthiness advisory

From the DHV website.
"All harness carabiners Parafly Automatic by Austrialpin, which surface
finishing is made of a bright chromium surface must not be used anymore."
http://www.dhv.de/english/sicherheit/index.html
Only certain surface finishes are affected seemingly, but this leads to
ambiguity!!! What's the difference between chromium finish, polished
aluminium finish and various anodised finishes??? I don't have a degree in
metallurgy so I do I rely on pictures? or perhaps more sensibly an
identifying stamp on the carabiners themselves but these haven't been
published. Both the DHV and the BHPA pictures of the ones in question are
terrible, poorly light, they could be any shade!
