I also bought a Ram mount for my Garmin eMap. The Garmin handle-bar
mount not only will not fit the standard 1 1/4 inch base tube or down
tube, but it does not give any lateral adjustment of the gps unit. The
RAM mounts give excellent position adjustment.
2 notes:
1. look at the ram-mount web site, but buy from one of the retail
dealers they list, like gpscity.com. RAM charges full list price while
almost all of the retailers discount heavily.
2. The basic 4 piece kit that gpscity and RAM sell for mounting also
uses a 1 inch strap clamp for the base position. That will not fit
your HG tubes any better than the Garmin handle bar mount. You need to
get the yoke mount which opens to 1 1/2 inches.
