I just hauled home a hang glider from a garage sale and now I am trying to
figure out why. The seller was a bit wierd and talked like he landed on his
head too many times. He said he just wanted it out of the garage. He
offered no good advise (like "be careful"). He did say that he pulled his
kids around a grassy park behind a golf cart and also behind a boat (I
didn't see any evidence around the house that the kids were still alive). I
gave him $40.00 and took it apart and hauled it home.
Now, before you all say I'm insane to try to go aloft on a garage sale hang
glider without instruction, please save it. I'm not going to. I just want
to know how and where to inspect this thing for safety, where can I get
instruction, where are the good web sites, can I pull this behind my boat
and if so what's the criteria for that, etc. etc. I'll probably just put it
on eBay. I'm 54, 220 lbs, not rich (but have Group Health), prone to do
dumb things sometimes, but not very athletic and always wanted to fly. Talk
to me.............
