Yeah, I know that. But in performance and weight the Eagle seems to fit better
in the "class" of single surface wings, even if it isn't literally one. It is
cetainly a suitable choice as a first wing, moreso than any other double
surface wing I'm aware of.
The original post seemed to assume a huge difference between single and double
surface wings. I chose to point my reply more toward "beginner wings", which,
as it happens, does include the 60% double surface Eagle. I probably should
have made that distinction a bit clearer for you, though you weren't the
intended audience.
