I've just bought a Garmin Etrex Vista (£220 new from Ebay).

Trialled a mates first and was well impressed. Built in map and very
accurate (WAAS capability)
and the built in barometric altimeter is also handy as it logs your
ascent/descent rates and height for your entire flight..
