My plane is worth maybe $65,000 tops. Adding a $25,000 system that
might increase it's selling value by maybe $10,000 and make it more
difficult to sell doesn't make economic sense. In addition, it has poor
cabin heat, which would be even worse flying in icing conditions.
However, if I can ever afford a $200,000 airplane, you can bet your sweet
bippy that it will either have TKS or I will add TKS to that airplane.
Too many flights get canceled in NE because of icing. Just yesterday I was
planning a flight to ASH. I canceled when an Otter reported rime at 6000'
over MHT, about two minutes before my last call to FSS.
