I've had Elite for years and still consider it the best money I have
ever spent in aviation. Twice I have completed an Instrument Competency
Check after not flying for a year or more while the various instructors
comment I must be lying.
Elite is stable, I don't think the program has ever crashed while I was
using it. It's 172 is more faithful to real Skyhawks than any other
program I have tried. I never find myself making excuses for the sim
and thinking "well that's just a sim problem, in the plane it would be
better." More than any other program I have tried, you simply move the
mouse to the control or display on the screen and change it, whether
that's the radios or the OBS or whatever. I would really suggest you
spend the extra $50 and get the IFR syllabus.
If you can afford it, get it.
